An autumnal summerhall wedding

Explore the unique and unforgettable wedding of Daisy and Neil at Edinburgh's Summerhall. Battling Storm Babet, the couple's celebration unfolded with copious amounts of confetti, intimate moments, and personal touches that made their day truly one-of-a-kind.

Storm-Defying Love

Daisy & Neil defied Storm Babet's challenges, bringing together guests from Manchester and beyond for a day filled with love, fun and music. A morning rain shower didn't deter the couple as they prepared for their special day in an Air B&B in Edinburgh’s New Town, but in all honesty, we were just glad that the 1000mph winds had died down…

Confetti-filled Aisle Walk

After their funny and heartwarming ceremony where Daisy quoted our lord and saviour Taylor Swift in her vows, the couple made an exit with an abundance of confetti and cannons, creating a truly memorable aisle walk. The celebration continued as sunlight bathed the Meadows, providing a stunning backdrop for candid moments and a quiet pint at the Dick pub.

Personalised Details and Unique Photo Ops

This wedding at Summerhall featured so many personal touches, from the bride's stepmum crafting flowers to a cake made of their favourite biscuits. The iconic venue offered so many hidden spots and unique photo opportunities including lecture halls and galleries!

Musical Moments and Bangin’ Ceilidh

After some cracking speeches and a pie dinner, I sneaked the pair away for a few more photos around Summerhall. The festivities continued with live acoustic music from the couples pal, a first dance with giant cats on sticks (a first, and I hope not last, for me!) and Daisy's sparkling outfit change adding even more fun to the ceilidh.

This Summerhall wedding showcased resilience (against the scottish weather of course!), personal touches, cracking music and so many memorable moments (not least the confetti!). As an Edinbrugh wedding photographer, I was so excited to capture my first wedding here. If you're envisioning a unique celebration, Summerhall is the perfect venue and I’d love to shoot there again.
