Charlotte & Daniel’s Misty Loch Lomond Wedding

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s relaxed, full of personality, and set against Scotland’s breathtaking landscapes, Charlotte and Daniel’s intimate Loch Lomond celebration is PEAK and all the inspiration you need! As an Edinburgh wedding photographer who specialises in colourful, candid, and modern wedding photography, this day was an absolute dream to capture and yes, I wish I could do it all again.

A Love Story Rooted in Scotland

Charlotte and Daniel travelled all the way from Cheshire to Scotland to tie the knot at the stunning Milarrochy Bay on Loch Lomond. For them, Scotland isn’t just a pretty backdrop—it’s a place filled with adventure, memories, and meaning. They’ve spent years exploring its mountains, lochs, and trails, so saying “I do” here, surrounded by their closest friends and family, felt completely right.

Getting Ready – A Laid-Back Morning with a Dash of Chaos

Both Charlotte and Daniel got ready in the same beautiful house but kept things traditional by getting ready separately. The morning was full of excitement (and maybe a few nerves) and included a lovely first look with both Charlotte’s Dad and Step-Dad. However, things took a slightly chaotic turn when Dan realised upon arriving at the shores of Loch Lomond for the ceremony that he’d left the marriage schedule back at their Airbnb. Enter Charlotte’s stepdad—the unexpected hero of the day—who made a mad dash to retrieve it just in time for the ceremony. When I tell you Dan went as white as a sheet… I thought he was gonna pass out!

An Atmospheric Loch-Side Ceremony

The couple’s outdoor ceremony at Milarrochy Bay was pure magic. The mist rolled over the loch, adding a cinematic quality to the setting and the light was incredible. Charlotte made her entrance to the sound of The Munro Bagpiper, a moment that gave everyone goosebumps. With the brilliant Andrew D Scott leading the ceremony (ya know, the big tall bearded guy!), there were tears, laughter, and a whole lot of love. Only as the ceremony came to a close, the soft drizzle of rain started—this is Scotland, after all!

Candid, Fun & Colourful Wedding Portraits

If there’s one thing I adore as a documentary-style wedding photographer, it’s capturing couples who truly embrace the moment (and the elements)—and Charlotte and Dan did exactly that. They laughed their way through every portrait, never taking themselves too seriously, and made the absolute most of the beautiful Loch Lomond backdrop. The mist, the light rain, and the stunning scenery all combined (alongside Charlotte's incredible red hair!) for some dreamy, atmospheric portraits that perfectly reflect their fun-loving energy.

A Cosy & Quirky Pub Reception at The Black Bull

After the lochside celebrations, we jumped in the car and headed to The Black Bull in Gartmore for a warm, intimate pub reception. The evening was full of incredible food, heartfelt speeches, and a truly unique touch—one of my past brides, Edith of Aulternative Weddings, was there live-painting guests as a fun, interactive entertainment piece. It was the perfect mix of relaxed and personal, exactly how Charlotte and Dan had envisioned it.

I didn’t wanna leave, and I mean it when I say I will miss this pair!
